After just suffering a load of hassle with an intermittent fault on the Accuspark dizzy I'd fitted to my 1700 van, I fancy returning to points again. I would like a good used dizzy with vacuum advance if anybody has one they'd like to swop for cash? Failing that can anybody recommend which new buy would be best, I see JK do an original Bosch unit for about £125, which will hurt on top of the £50 or so for my knacked Accuspark. If anybody is interested the symptoms were similar to fuel starvation, but sometimes wouldn't start for 30-40 miles. The thing only lasted about 14 months and a couple of thou miles, if I'd had the van on the road earlier it might have failed under warranty! Lurching and spluttering along the M62 at rush hour is not fun. Cheers.
If you look on oldvolkshome .com it lists all dizzy numbers and which is suitable ....I do have a refurbished type 4 dizzy but away at moment in deepest darkest noth Wales and it's at home .....
