If you've deciced that's the best thing to happen then that's a great result for your peace of mind . My advice would be to offer it on here and eBay rather than sell it cheap to the very people who wouldn't help you out . Just my tuppenceworth but funny how none of you families mates had any time to help you out but can find an afternoon to kick the tyres and offer you peanuts for the van . 4k is way too cheap ... Start at at least £6k. For that you would get a very rusty runner. It will be worth at least 10k if you bought and arrange to have fitted a recon engine. It really is false economy to sell it as a non runner.
Agreed, spending £1500 or so on an engine along with the help of the TLB posse will add considerably more to the value of the bus.
My view is you know in your heart what you want and more importantly what is right for you at present, if you feel your health is suffering too much then I agree let the bay go sadly, as regards value why not put it up for sale on the late bay at say £7,500 but open to offers, people on here will know your situation and if any are genuinely interested see what offers you get, then you will have an idea of it’s real value Good luck and stay safe and don’t forget I’m only 15 minutes away
I've sort of put the van to one side for a few days so I can get on with my garden and do some jobs on the mgb in the garage. As you all probably gathered and reading between the lines of my words. my health is getting worse and the only reason I would be selling my bay. One of my son's mates is coming round tomorrow to have a look and don't worry I won't be selling for peanuts, I don't need the money and ideally I would like it to go to someone who would look after it. I will keep you posted and in the meantime try to work out how to post some pics on here. Thanks for the valuations, it helps me a lot.
