  1. Type 4 'W' code 1.7 litre engine project for sale. I am adding photos over the next few days and will update the description to detail exactly what is and what isn't included with the package.

Includes exhaust system, front & rear heater pipes, engine mounting bar, all tinware, complete engine (currently in 'shortblock' state), Solex PDSIT twin carb set up and original airfilter, flywheel etc..

The engine is the high-compression type that in original form with D-Jetronic fuel injection kicked out 80hp and had great through-the range torque.

  2. Is it turnkey or short-block? ie can it be bolted straight in and the key turned or does it need putting together.

  3. 'Turnkey engine project' .........

If it was a turnkey engine, complete ready to go it would be advertised as such.

  4. You have stated it is turn-key and then implied its in bits which is it? Project? Im out - oops!

  5.
  6. It must be a miracle that I managed to sell a similar set-up to someone on fleaBay, based totally on a description, no photos and the listing title included the exact words 'turnkey engine project' ...... they bought and got exactly what they were expecting.

  7. Description changed (apparently it was ambiguous), however what is being sold remains unchanged.

  9. Hello. Well to put the record straight I have dealt quite succesfully with several TLB members including 72Wilma, HorTs, Joker, Harry K and Rickyrooo1 to mention a few.

As for the rules for selling, this post is the first time I have had any 'issues', my location is clearly listed against my details (Hereford), price is clearly listed is it not (?) and as for contact details don't you use the forum or PM's?? It seems to have worked successfully in the past, I didn't join up to TLB yesterday, though I am being made to feel like an idiot at the moment.

  10. Oh and I removed the reference to 'Turnkey' after the first comment on the choice of words (which to be fair might have been misleading, for which I apologise).

Can we draw a line under it there by any chance?

  11. The first of many photos have been added - hurrah!

I will add more photos and update the description over the next few days to detail exactly what is and what isn't included with the package and will also describe the condition of the parts.

  12. you might wanna cut down on the cider.... :))

  13. I think mr 3 counties dubber drinks a fair bit of the apple juice, as long as he hasn't been running this engine on it.

    Free bump.

Lets not forget, type 4 with a DTM v2 Jake Raby cooling conversion goes in most beetles, type 3, type 4, bus, Karmen ghia, 356 rep.

Much better than a type 1 engine. Nice ally crankcase. No knackered bearings in the future. Good solid engine.

Before you ask , he's my Dad
    Ha

No, never met, honest your honour.
