Well the quote is in and and submitted to insurance they accept it. Because ouchhh, it a decent number. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
A month on and absolutely no movement, insurance companies are utter waste if spaces. Sounds stupid but really toying with selling it, all the years of work for it now to be in this state even when repaired it's just not going to ever be in the same again in my eyes. Alot to think about. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
Hope you get it sorted soon fella, really do. If its any consolation, the day we initially went to collect Chip from the bloke in San Diego who'd messed us about for the previous 3 weeks, we watched him drive the bus into the back of a stationary pick up truck.. The front was mint until then! And yes, we got hammered that night but...all these years later it's become just another story to tell about bus ownership...
Well while waiting for insurance to sort itself out I have finally found a decent set of overriders. Decent front pair from eBay and one rear and front from a seller on here. Luckily the spare front can be made into a rear just need to cut the notch out for it to manage. Hopefully get them painted when the bus goes in for repair. Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk
@rob.e arrived today unwrapped one in my excitement. Still waiting for the bus to go for insurance repairs really taking the biscuit now over 5 months later and no news.
Had to try them on, as rob mentioned longer rear bolts needed. Unknown when they will officially get put on but doubt it to be this year, crash damage and more camping are on the cards before any more playing around.
They suit your bus nicely (and has the added benefit of me not buying them) Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk
Finally dropped off at "the old bus depot" for her repair this week, should be about 2-4 week turn around
Well 10 months after the crash she has a new front end. Hopefully u get to collect her next week after all the insurance details are sorted.
Well today didn't go as planned. Train from West Yorkshire to Wrexham to go have a look at the van and bring it back to Chester to get collected next Tuesday to bring her home. Quick 3m test drive the gearstick snapped, oddly it snapped at the ball that goes into the shift rod, must of been a stress fracture due to the crash. Decided to tow her back to the garage and get her collected there on Tuesday. I thought the brakes had an issue after the crash due to a slight binding on, little did I know this turned into a full on fire once we arrived back at the garage. Nobody's fault any of it, but collection is organised for Tuesday and I can start redoing the whole brake system once she is home. Looks like them brand new front calipers / discs / pads / bearings are going to need a strip down and investigate as I assume the caliper seals have now melted. Either way she looks absolutely stunning again.
