Haha, yeah some of those old films, but up to date ones too. We have - or at least we did have - various monthly theme nights: so Western Wednesday was first in the month, Foreign Language Wednesday in the last week of the month, Tuesday matinees with a free hot drink for the over 60s, Musical Mondays, that kind of thing - but they were subsidised, and with only 30 seats to start with before social distancing, it won't be viable until complete normality returns (I have yet to convince them that a monthly Sci-Fi night would be a worthy addition to the calendar!) We do the normal Hollywood stuff too, of course; plus live streaming of Opera, Ballet, and National Theatre productions. Dammit I miss working there!
I've always been something of a dilettante. I've learnt in recent times to reduce the range down to things that I get some real enjoyment from. So they all are mostly about creative stuff, especially metalworking including jewellery, silversmithing, ornamental ironwork, classic car bodywork; re-engineering classic cars for motorsport; gardening; cooking. Then there are other well being things like walking the dogs, being in the countryside, walking along the coast, drinking nice wine, sitting in a country pub with a decent pint, listening to live music.
Reading goung to gigs/theatre/festivals Looking at Ebay etc for impractical but fab and cheap work vans - mainly French camping in my fab van, of German origin (or looking at campsites on the internet in books) Driving my super coupe, of Italian origin Playing in my narrow boat Driving the length and breadth of the country trying to spot a Lancaster watching wildlife walking in the country side, but not very far. Preferably by a river and to a pub growing veg - tho this year I’ve been a bit tardy. Going to classic car shows going to Car Boot sales unfortunately some of my list have been curtailed by Covid restrictions but I’m looking forward to normal life coming back.
Bit of this and that for me: Guitar (not enough of late to be honest). Knitting (plenty of winter knitwear to keep me warm. Although now I've made enough for myself I've not made anything for a while). Cycling. Anything old car related!
@Jessica Dane - I don’t want to speak out of turn, but @Merlin Cat is one of those to be avoided. Her taste in vee hicles is ‘eclectic’** ** mental
There used to be a stuffed fox sitting in a wing back armchair and dressed appropriately smoking a fag in a pub called The Fox Revived I think, in Norwood Hill. Always made me smile that.
I don't have any spare time but if i do it involves building work arguing with the council rebuilding another camper because every time i finish one i sell it because I'm broke. i need to have a word with one self used to play a lot of tennis can't be assed because most people that play are wan- puffins
That’s great. The Russkies do like their green cockpits. Are the authorities aware that you’re flying Russian bombers from your basement, BTW ?
