Not to worry it’s just the light hitting a dust sheet over a compressor! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Before I commit to painting the upper half does anyone think the pastel white I’ve got is too cream? Here’s what it used to look like. Have I screwed up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeap both should be. The paint I used on the inside corner also looked quite creamy in the tin but looked whiter when sprayed. Think I’ll compare the tins and if they match it might be ok. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What light are you looking at it under? Artificial light can distort colours compared to sunlight. Mine’s L90D but didn’t look quite as cream as yours in the tin, though I’ve been outside the whole time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Always hard to tell for sure paint colours in the tin, whether automotive or household paint. Do a test spray on a piece of scrap or old panel as it would be a bit of a bugger to get this far and not be happy with the shade!
Modern L90D does come a bit creamy... I’ve used some Halfords cans and some from the paint factors and both are creamier than original. My brother suggested that VW may have come up with a new mix when the Mk1 golf and clipper were in circulation.
Great stuff fella Not teaching you to suck eggs jim but before you come to spray Go round with the air line and blow all the dust etc out of all the nooks and crannies Then when you think your done go round and do it again. I’ve seen some truly stunning paint jobs that are let down by dust and debris been left in door opening corners etc. Keep up the great work it’s going to be stunning when it’s finished
Yeap definitely will be! I tend to run the air line over everything 3 times to make sure. The workshop also needs a jolly good clean as it’s filthy. I’ll then cover everything in plastic to hopefully keep it as clean as I can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
And make the floor wet, just be careful of dragging your air hose through the wet sloppy mess on the floor.
Not sure what I was worried about. Paints look fine. This is the paint I used on the inner corner against the poptop. Looks fine. And then the same paint (bottom) against the basecoat (top) I’ll be using on the outside. All looks good to me! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Door inners into pastel white tonight! Pretty sure the inners now look better than the outers did before I started. And started wet sanding the rear of the van down.
Keeping up the momentum. Cab door inner bottoms into Neptune blue. Glad I stuck with the original colour. Four days off now to paint everything else. See you on the other side.
