Bad form from the Welsh fans booing the National Anthem I thought.
It's gradually becoming more like football which is a massive step in the wrong direction.

I know the one time it happened in rugby, he didn't roll 30 times then bite down on it.

Two hard games, two very different games...

  3. As much as I hate to say it! Well played England congratulations! You wanted it more and played the better rugby! Huge marker down for the World Cup :(

They were responding to the England captain acting like a *****...

I couldn't agree less regarding a marker...it's a significant win in terms of grand slam...but had Wales won would we all be concluding we'd win in September.

    There's a disconnect.

No they weren't, they were just being arseholes.
No place for it in rugby although it's becoming more and more prevalent.
A bit like the noise when players are trying to take penalties. It's about respect, or lack of.
It seemed to start at Gloucester and move Waleswards!

I'm with you on some of societies ills creeping into rugby...but Robshaw did a Johnson and acted like a cock.

Putting an England Wales match on a Friday evening was also mistake as a lot of people will have been on the pop all day...

I agree regarding the anthems...though it wasn't Welsh fans singing the slave anthem when Ford was kicking!

Maybe; not sure what that's got to do with disrespecting the anthem though.
IMHO that's not in the spirit of the game.

    It's not good I agree...

But the fans didn't see both teams waiting to walk out late, only England (the traditional away team goes out first) acting the knob on the big screens in the stadium.

I'd imagine this is what got peoples backs up.

Not justifying it, just my conclusion.

  10. As a footy fan.. (Apologies) I also actually like the mentality of rugby the players and the fans. In a word I am thinking. "Civilised" .

A game for hooligans played by gentlemen.

That was entertaining. And as a cockney lad we only like football and violence. Sad but true Rugby is not a common sport in london schools when I was a lad.

  11. I was watching in a pub and the commentary want very loud, so son have missed something.

It looked like the teams were meant to walk out together. The welsh didn't turn up at the time set by the ref. Robshaw wanted to wait so they all came out togtether.

    What did I miss?

I do like the way English and welsh fans are sat next to each other with no issues and beer is also allowed. All very grown up and civilised

  12. This was always a banana skin for WALES if we had won then No I don't think it was a marker for the World Cup at all but for England to come down to the caldron of the Millennium stadium and A want it more, B outmuscle us and C out think us when they had a lot of injuries, I think is very much a marker for the World Cup! More the manner of the win than the win itself! I actually didn't see one aspect of the game that we consistently where superior to England. Our best pack where outmuscled and out played in the scrum, we had parity and possibly showed better skill at the breakdown but we where getting stuffed physically in Mauls! Also there supposed depleted back line was more imaginative than our strongest back line! They appeared quite happy and confident to hold onto the ball and make hard yards going through the phases whereas we just wanted to kick!!
As much as I don't want it to be the case I am afraid it is back to the drawing board for Wales re tactics and More of the same for England whose hardest choice is who to drop as players come back from injury! One telling statistic for me was that despite Englands depleted ranks they had the stronger bench! Even though I think Lancaster did substitute to early which was lucky for us or it could have been even worse!
The next time we meet England is in the World Cup, at Twickenham with a full complement! Having put a marker down in Cardiff 7 months before. Not saying we will lose. In fact we will probably feel happier being once again the underdog and England beware if you do like we did last night and under estimate us! ;)

  13. Robshaw was trying to be the big I Am, emulating Martin Johnson when England played Ireland and stood on the wrong side of the half way line! A Brave tactic cos it can rile opposition and back fire! On this occasion and in Ireland however it seemed to work as on Both occasions England appeared to have the firepower to back up his arrogance!

  19. Totally wrong. He stood his ground waiting for the welsh to come out of their dressing room.
Theres nothing worse than doing all your warm ups then standing in a freezing field waiting for the other team to bother coming out.
