What happened to this then less than 400 miles.

  1. They are graded stickers so trip at 99 then 110 then 121, and yes this is the case temprature so the oil inside would be considerably hotter. Now bare in mind that oil will start to break down over 110 degree's by the time the outside of the case has reached 121 degree's the oil is well an trully roasted and not cooling your engine in any way shape or form.

I have a oil temp gauge on my own van and wouldn't dream of taking my van over 110 degrees C or 230 degrees F and if I do which I have once in the south of France I stopped and did a full oil change. This is OIL temp thought not the outside of the case which would reach no where near these figures.

there seesm to be some odd thoughts here not based in fact, so I hope the facts help to clarify things.

  2. In what way, oxidation or thermal?

  3. The dizzy drive gear is not fitted as we used to fit them and we had a batch of returns where the owners would spin the bottom pulley round on there brand new engine before fitting their dizzy, this causes the drive gear to jump up and out some times loosing the shims into the bottom ened but either way resulting in a full bottom end strip down. The drive gear is not fitted to save issues and returns due to customer errors.

Hope this helps to clear this up,

We are not trying to diddle anyone, we are trying to provide the best qulaity unit we can. Our goal is to keep as many VW's alive and on the road as possible.

I am an enthusiast and customer first and an employee second, I used VW heritage for my own parts for 8 years before i got a job here and anyone that knows me can vouch for the fact I stick up for people and demand good service. (I even served a 3 month ban on VZifor trying to make people aware of a scam engine company which has since gone under)

  4. Its thermal degredation the oil will start to break down and looses it lubricity.

It used to take me almost that long to find the part I was looking for!
    :D

  6. 110* or anything up to (I'd say) 120* is fine. A van will hit 115* regularly if you push it.
