batten down the hatches where in some some bad weather

Thunder and lightning on Tyneside last night . We've had more rain in the last four weeks than we've had all year , during which time , brave men have been attempting to replace my roof. Talk about the law of sod!

 

mr twit ,i mean mr fish , used to live i my town , god i bet hed had the night off for the stick hes taken , it was strange that eve before the hurricane my windows steamed up on the outside of my office , n strange tings , it was eary. When it came we coped it full force , you couldnt walk upright in it and it was blowing massive trees down like pins . I think they should dam well know more now and stop giving such crap forecasts, its very serious and people need to not be messed about. I hope for everyones sake it doesnt come the last one was very very scary.

 

o dear they reckon its almost a cert now

 

we had lightning thunder and rain last night ,looking out of the window at 2am at the electrical show ,I just realized when the swimming pool overflows the water will come into the house ,why the hell did I not fit some sort of overflow...

 

I was up putting buckets under a couple of leaks and moving the bed.

 

we used to do that...ah the fun....

 

Was on the roof today, I now wait and see if I got the right spots.

 

Other halves Mum and Dad are off on a cruise today, from Southampton. Well now they are not as such. Ship isn't going to move for 3 days now due to weather.

 

I slept through the one in 87 (I was 3)
Now are back is very exposed to the south and my journey to work on Monday is along a long stretch of exposed road along the top of a cliff.
That will be a fun drive

 

i got caught on pride of bilbao going ta spain few years back in hurricane luckily it had died down a tad before we got to biscay , 40ft troughs even the captain had a tremaaaa in his voice rollin it was n a rockin

 

if thats up peacehaven way , that mobile home place along their got floored,, take care , stay in if its bad dont risk it .

I hope everyones got a few preparations in place incase essential services get disrupted for a few days
Hopefully it wont get to bad and if it does i hope everyone on tlb gets through it without too much drama

 

I have lots of food in freezer. If power goes I will have the camping cookers and a freezer load of defrosted food.
Ohh dont have candles but my led lamp lasts 5 days so will charge that tonight just in case.

Got a little generator, only a cheapy 800 watt thing. I had just started driving for B and Q and it was returned. They don't allow them to stay in the building as has had petrol in, I bought it for £20 or was going in the skip. I bought it as thought it might come in handy one day, I still await that day lol. I started it earlier for the first time in over 2 years, second pull
