A friend who runs a bodyshop. Getting friends to do things is a big mistake. It's too easy for them to put you at the bottom of their business priorities. He's had it since February! But he says it'll be ready in just 3 weeks. We'll see. He knows I'll be moving it to another painter if it's not ready.
Love the background story - my first ever memory us sitting behind the back seat of our '63 beetle "Sarah" on a ferry across to Calais when I was 4! A 1970 1302s beetle, a 1973 1600ta fastback, a 1970 karmann ghia cabrio and now a 1979 camper... Guess vdubs are just in some people's blood!
Which colour option? I'm getting the orange as close as I can, I'm thinking either the westy orangy colour can't remember the name but i think gusbus and barry are that colour, but with a twist, with gold flake over the top, or maybe even the very garish KTM orange, again + gold flake. Or, stick with the original white but with a floating black metallic roof? As with the pretender I may go with a sympathetic tap with a lowering stick
