Is that The Severn then Malc? I do love a river swim. My swim today was a lake, but rivers, lakes, so long as you know what you are doing and the safe spots to go for a dip, it’s way better than a swimming pool. Ok, there’s a risk you’ll catch some nasty tummy bug , but aside from that :D

Have you seen one like this before?

Interesting! Acer pseudo Simon Louis freres has that variegation pattern, but normally in just yellow and green.... yours looks to have a pinkish tone to it as well. My 'esk sunset' that I've been grafting have that kind of colour, but not the half-and-half leaf pattern.... hmmmm, you may have stumped me there @paradox! Do you know what it is? (It's a type of sycamore I think, but more than that I'm not sure)

  8. A variegated sycamore is as far as my mind has got with it.
The phone camera really doesn’t do the pinks justice at all
It really pops in the evening sunlight
I’ve seen plenty of variegation before but nothing like this at all
    It almost seems mutated.

I want one! :D We’ve been talking about getting an acer but I love that. Good for the pollinators too apparently. About £60 for a 2 year old tree though . Do I love them that much?

This is how Rock n Roll my life has become :(

  12. I heard Keith Richards was thinking of getting a variegated acer, but he reckoned it was just too much.

Keith’s “herbaceous “ borders are well known in Rock n Roll circles. He sometimes fills in for Bob Flowerdew on Garderners Question Time.

They go really easy from stem cuttings in the winter if you want one or two. I have no idea what they’re called and cba’d to Google it but we did t loads of those cuttings a few years ago.

No mate that was the Teme Ludlow way, I was having a reccy for a possible boat trip in the Canadian canoe I built a couple of years back but saw the pub and the shingle beach and decided to forget the reccy!

Yes canal from Kidderminster to Stourport I decided to take your advice an and do it gradually. I did a mile then a couple of miles, did stretches etc each evening as I finished and then today I finished the job I was doing, packed a snack and drink and off I went. I don’t feel too many aches at all atm. I did fall asleep on the sofa this evening though
    Cheers Art!

  19. I wouldn’t normally want anything to do with spreading more sycamores they are good enough at that themselves.
This one though I do feel like I want to grow a few trees of it on.
I’ve rooted cuttings of other plants so I’ll look into it for this
Maybe if I’m successful jack tatty may like one.
