Being a kid, not a ten year old adult, with a phone and a constant stream of social media to worry about.
Obviously in yeti land But in most civilised areas good parents don’t allow any of that until at least 13 + terrible
Bob a job Kicked outside to play straight after breakfast until the street lights came on. Cycling to the local woods and setting fire to things
Walking around the woods with a large sheath knife, which your dad had bought you, and a military grade slingshot from a hardware shop in Chagford that could send a ball bearing through a car door (apparently), before you were old enough to go to big school. True story, when we first moved to Switzerland my son was seven. After we'd registered with the local council, they must have told the Swiss Scout equivalent, or Pfadies as they're called here, as my son received a letter from them telling him to meet in the woods on the next Saturday afternoon, and to bring a large knife and no parents... He didn't go.
Dying to have a go on one of these but being too short at the time to see the screen. Using these for something more than sitting and smoking fags or taking whatever they do these days on playground that look like they fell off a space shuttle Knowing that this was the fast track to the wider world Being told, and very much believing that these could melt your insides And no decent play session didn't involve this being 'lovingly' spread on war wounds
My mother used to do that, but paint detailed landscapes on the shells for the cheese show, to sell for charity.
Close Mum, can I go see Motorhead with some of the lads from school........ No. Ok, can I go for a sleepover at said mates house.......... Yes but be good. Motorhead here we come
So true, and then having to wait until your mum and dad could afford to replace them and in the meantime patching the innertubes and splicing bits of tyre in to stop the bulge!
Making wooden go karts from scrap and massive pram wheels ….. they were dangerous using only your heels as brakes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
