Just following the news thread, two 16 year old lads stabbed and died in London. A man shot and apparently doused in acid in Wigan, yet the news seems more concerned that Matt Hancock didn’t win…whatever he is supposed to win. Strange media times, perhaps not so.
It’s sad that a ‘celebrity’ should seem more important in news worthy terms than real life (and death) events.
??? Without making a meal out of it , most papers …..not just papers most media ,seem to go big with the Hancock scenario , alongside the two stabbed ( killed ) teenagers, the father in Wigan killed plus another few murders. I am not the TLB crime reporter but was commenting on how how the media portray what is happening today.
Unfortunately I think a lot of the crimes happen so often that it’s seen as not news worthy so you have to go looking for it. some scary figures https://www.statista.com/statistics/864736/knife-crime-in-london/ https://aoav.org.uk/2022/londons-murders-examined-key-figures-in-the-uk-capitals-homicides/
The Media has worsened recently since covid ...its all about Money. They don't care to hoots about whats important or not . They sadly have the rights to put what they wish ...Assumption ...Presumption ...and non primary source information . Dangerous as loads of people take there bull as gospel .
It's unfortunately the way news is reported....lots of coverage of overpaid football players doing what they are paid to do .... little coverage of real stories such as the war in Ukraine, protests in China etc.
I used to listen to Radio 4 pretty much on a daily basis, After all what has been going on and especially since 2016 I have now lost all interest in what goes on in the Uk especially in government Blood thirsty idiots sick to death of the lot of them I listen to the Kisstory DAB station now
what happened in 2016? Portugal won the Euros, summer Olympics in Rio, Donald Trump who'd have believed it, Eurovision won by a Ukrainian.
