Nice to see Chip home and looking very shiny! Obviously had I seen this earlier in the day, I may have taken inspiration from Mel and got the gloves on to give Clem a much needed clean.... aaah there's always next weekend
Chip. The syncro isn't ready to camp in yet..however there are some jobs to do, well lots really so we'll see haha.
Fuses...nasty things those old bullet fuses but they do work. I thought I'd do the annual twiddle and leave it at that, then saw that some were past their best. Sourced some ceramic bodied ones, not the plastic ones that are also available...but..the replacements are 25mm rather than the older 20mm which nestle in the contacts better. Who knew! I'll see how we go, having kept the old ones for now but the hunt for 20mm commences...
Steering damper. Small quick job with good returns. The Cofap one that's coming off has given good service but is tired and a bit squishy. Nice stiffer Boge in its place. There had been reports on the Samba about a questionable batch of these being over hard to compress. I can move this one, it takes a bit of a squeeze, but not excessively so. Hopefully all will be well...
Polished me jalousies. Who doesn't like a shiny opener. Quite a nice way to use a bonus Friday afternoon
Shamelessly stolen from @grub we've dug out Chips old Cali reg plate and reintroduced them. It carries the 2009 registration expiry from when we had him registered for the trip across the States back in June 2008
Hmm... South African plate for Sterk, I have the registration number - it's etched on every window Cracking idea, thank you.
