It's all good: Managed to quietly gloss over the 60 occasion thanks to Covid, so Will be "sharing" a birthday with a two year old this Monday, meaning it'll never be mine alone ever again, so My Dad, of whom I appear to be a carbon copy, was 93 yesterday, so We now have a 2009 auto RHD Merc camper (in the making), not a 1970 manual LHD Bay, so Mrs D&D is 63 but is usually thought to be nearer 50, so Most important of all, I have at least 30 years worth of projects to keep me busy if I make it that far, so
We stopped dating about 39 years ago .... Which reminds me: Bloke goes to work on his first day as a museum curator. The outgoing one gives him a tour and stops at one particularly splendid fossil specimen. "Now THIS is our oldest exhibit, at three million and seventeen years of age!" "Oh" says the newbie, "how can you be that accurate?" "Well, when I arrived they said it was three million, and that was seventeen years ago."
Similar to several others - 60 seems a long time ago now . Apart from retiring - I kept everything else going as long as I could - running 10k until I turned 65 when angina struck - so then joined a local gym and there I can monitor my heart rate - and slow down if necessary - although a heart by pass has helped . Walking the dog 3 times a day helps as well - then of course keeping the bus road worthy I find keeps you fit.
I’m only 53 & don’t really think about it. I’ve recently started motorbike riding & taken up footy again...... I sometimes get stiff but Mrs ST likes that, so
I'm 61 and knackered. Due to a no holes barred hedonistic lifestyle followed by working far too long hours without holidays or breaks I expected to be dead by now. Oh well!
Note to self - must read over my posts before hitting send... I'll be deeply breathing lead solder later today, hopefully... See my thread in tech.
The solder is OK , its the flux smoke you dont want to breathe in. So little lead gets on you its really just what happens when it leaches out of landfill with acid ground water that causes all the panic. When it was dumped out of cars it was in a fine dust form making it easier to absorb. On a PCB its great lumps of the stuff.
Thongs to look forward to after 60 are dodgy knees, eyes, ears and prostrate. Apart from that it's a breeze.
I hit the Big 60 two weeks ago cant say i feel any diffrent really but i do qualify for a TFL 60+ Free Travel Card lol , Happy Birthday 60th Birthday Fella
