nope, mine is under an internal cupboard. @zedders fitted his in the engine bay where the spare wheel bulge is.
Personally I’d aim to keep the heater out of the living area because it’s very noisy in operation.
Another little mod that would be worth doing is providing the option to divert the air out of the van. The reason is the 3 minute cold air purge every time the heater shuts down, our vans are so small they heat up in four or five minutes with a propex. Trouble is a three minute cold air purge is enough to cool the van down again.

  4. Blimey , that`s interesting - how do you fill it ??
Presuming there`s a filler and vent in the front ??

Well it will be going there when I get round to it! Bought all the gas gubbins last month so just need to find time to install it all

  6. The actual gas cylinder is internal to the cylinder you can see. There is a vent and a fill cap external so I can pull up at a gas station and fill up

If I did place it under the r n r bed, is removal of the unit over the warmer summer months and then reinstalling it a realistic option? obviously the gas supply would need some sort of capping system.

I also have a Wetsy with an original LPG underslung tank. On my long list of things to do, I'd love to add a heater and always thought that having the heater outside is intrinsically safer with all of the waste gasses outside. Happy to be proved wrong by those who are more knowledgeable on this that me :)

@physiopro do you have a installing thread on here?

Is it really necessary for a heater ? . It seems a lot of trouble and expence to fit one. I just light the gas hob for a couple of minutes to warm the van when camping , job done . I know there's risks to it and and its not as yuppie as a heater but it works for me .
It also leaves storage space for all the other equipment she packs but never uses

  11. As long as you have a carbon monoxide alarm in the van then that should be ok

Also, get yourself one of these:

I've had one for 4 years, no problems. Stores an awning, groundsheet and 4 camping chairs. Great for putting wet camping gear in at the end of your holidays, saves messing up the interior of your van and battling condensation on the journey home :)

Yes I know what you mean. But March and October holidays can be a bit nipsville. I am from down south though which explains a lot.

I already have a second hand propex unit. But I think I’m going to build one of those metal boxes to enable me to place it underneath.
I like the westy storage thingy though.

If I did it all again I'd build in a 24oV AC convector heater (not fan) instead of the Eber. I'm always on hook up and they're as cheap as chips, constant heat, no fan, no hot one minute cold the next. £60.
