Drum solos???? Although I suppose they do allow the rest of the band, and the audience, time for a comfort break, go to the bar, do the Times Crossword etc
Anything by Craig Blundell, the guy is incredible. I had the pleasure of having a 2 hour drum lesson with him at his house last year, just utterly mind blowing what this guy can do with a pair of twigs. If you fancy falling in to a drummers rabbit hole on YouTube, just check him out.
I'll go for any drummer that doesn't "do" drum solos. But Topper Headon and that bloke you plays for Jools Holland.
Generally agree, I think the best drum solos are on studio albums because they know they have to make it snappy. I think the most actually tuneful was Moby Dick Led Zepp 2
Definitely agree with this! Seen him with Frost* but really enjoy his playing on the Rockford live dvd, just wish he'd smile a bit more!
when there’s 37 things happening on each limb at any 1 time, I think smiling is the last thing on his mind! Properly nice bloke though, one of those people who you could just talk to about something for hours and not be bored because of the natural enthusiasm they have for it
