Kim MIGHT be the sort to benefit from "NLP" (Neuro Linguistic Programming) ... Did the trick for me and my "ME"/"CFD". Gives her tools to get her brain to make the best possible job of marshalling resources to recover. PM me if you're not finding clear info online?
Kim came away with us a few times recently, even if she just sat in the camper it was really good for her - at one point in the summer we were on the beach having chips and we got ambushed by BBC Northwest and ended up on the telly, perhaps a bit lessof that tough . Not sure if we'll get away next week (half term), waiting on the weather - just want it to be reasonably dry. Sadly, with the nights drawing in, a bit tricky to get out somewhere after work. We'll definitely get out over the weekends and when we can. I know it will be a long term recovery, months (at least 6) and not weeks. Slowly, slowly she was working on a energy chart.
It's still early days for the Beta blockers, but Kim has pretty much stayed in bed this week. Heather has been told to isolate as the teacher she has been supporting has tested positive, luckily the agency are going to pay her. So, no going away over half term or any day trips The only high us that I'm back on Hospital Radio next Wednesday to cover someone who can't do their show I need to plan a two hour show. We got approached by another couple who were in their Campervan and they said "You've just been on TV!" The crew were interviewing a lot of people about beach safety so we didn't think anymore about it, we just wanted to eat our chips.
Hope Heather ok and Kim starts feeling better soon. could you nip out for a single night camp on your own to give you a bit of a break? what’s your theme going to be on the radio? X
@Louey interesting article in prepublication and written about in the NY Times saying that Covid long haulers might be suffering from an over active immune system that is attacking their own bodies, similar to what happens with rheumatoid arthritis, hence the reoccurrence of symptoms without any sign of infection. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/27/health/covid-antibodies-autoimmunity.html Might be useful in your discussions with the doctors about your daughter.
Not sure if this will be of any help? Hope Kim feeling better x https://www.england.nhs.uk/2020/10/nhs-to-offer-long-covid-help/
Remember to look after yourself too. Going downhill into an exhausted spiral yourself won’t help anything. Best of luck and I hope she recovers well.
Another article for you @Louey a friend who has worked on Covid science group here and is currently working on Covid in parts of Africa (coping better than here) . A friend of hers contributed to the article. https://institute.global/policy/lon...aF-mLtaE-7yymN6bis7p3I71Wlegiglo2fH_NVWtRBOBA
