She lives part-time in the house ‘next door’ to me across in another ‘close’. Only comes down in the school holidays from London. A bit of a ‘free-thinker’... and a regular festival-goer.

Whatever is tied to the roof is a permanent fixture. Until it falls off.
I particularly like the hub caps... er, hub cap.

Found last night on the exposed banks of my local reservoir at low water levels.
It’s a naturally formed cast from a foot print, most likely iguanadon. What you see is the impression of the sole of its foot. About 10” across so a small one. The footprint left in soft ground, perhaps baked hard in the sun, then gets covered in silt, mud, clay etc and the whole lot gets successive layers piled on top over many millions of years, then at some point erosion separates the layers, they break up and this appears about 130 million years later.
I find a few plant fossils here but have hitherto not found evidence of Dinosaur presence here, which I have been looking for over the last few years as I know there have been finds in nearby valleys.
I see a lot of these at Hastings and the Isle of Wight on the beaches, but was delighted to find this here.

The reservoir is a stream-cut valley where water eroded through and exposed lower layers of sedimentary rock laid down in the marshy environment in the early Cretaceous period some 120-140m years ago, and was dammed and flooded in the 1970s, so this has probably been there submerged most of that time while the undergrowth decayed away under water and perhaps gentle current action and soil dissolution exposed it.

Edible . Though I’ve never tried them. I think you have to cook them before they get too inky.
