Stopped by the greenhouse on my way back from dads. Not seen them for 11 days. Apparently they’ve flourished despite my absence! :)

Seems a bit extreme, my kids annoy me at times too but......

  4. Apparently the isle of wight tomato stall ( it isn't a stall they have huge green houses ) are struggling. They have cancelled several articulated lorries from DHL as they are struggling to get them to ripen. Funny old weather I guess. They are amazing to see (normally)

Just trying to imagine the smell inside that greenhouse. I love the smell of tomato plants but I wonder if that would put you off them for life?

My cherries are just starting to ripen but the big ones are a long way off.

    Disappointing yields....:(
This is all we have to show from 2 potato sacks planted back at start of March. Another sack in the background preparing to give up its meagre horticultural treasure....

    Any tips spud growers?

I’d say it’s pretty normal for sacks. Growing in the ground there’s generally more space between and they won’t be as dry. You really have to keep em well watered in a sack.

Ground would give twice the size

Was just thinking this. Our plan is to clear some more veg space in the garden. At the mo all we have growing in open ground is cabbage, so next season that will most likely be spuds. In fairness these are the first earlies, the main crop we had a better yield. Nothing spectacular but better than these.
