    There seems to not be many in Southampton. Probably price the berths for when they load up with punters, too much for a totally unproductive pile of scrap. 20200704_212715.jpg

    Loooks like 2 cruise liners and a lot of the far more valuable car transporters.

    Apparently they are worth about 5x a cruise liner as on each voyage a cruise liner takes a few thousand punters at say £500-£2000 each. And you have to pay 1000s of staff to stop them getting bored.

    While a car transporter takes say 1000 cars at say £10000 to £100000 a time with a crew of 20 or so..

    I'd imagine, as @Pickles said, the berths are owned by the Port Authority, who'll charge an arm and a leg for parking your liner for a couple of months.

    That was like that at 07:45 yesterday morning as we went north. Clear by 23:00 when we came back. They said on the news 80k people were going to Cornwall. Apparently the M5 was a car park, most of the way. Brace yourself for an out break and local lock down soon.
