  1. it can't come quick enough. is it wrong that i'm counting the days until spring? i think i should hibernate in the winter, actually sleep through it all and wake up ready for the new year in spring :(

Yeah, I get that. I love a clear frosty winter day, blue sky and sunshine - but that's the key: it's the blue sky and the sunshine that make it. I can cope with the cold, but I detest rain. I spend most of the winter trying to convince myself that the beautiful frosty mornings, with spiders webs hung with dew, magical icicles, and seeing your breathe in great clouds, is all possible because of our slightly 'damp' climate, and that if we didn't have the rain, we wouldn't get all the frosty stunningness…. but sometimes it's hard to remember all that when it's being blown horizontally in my face!!
January and February does for me. I can live with December as I love Christmas and all good stuff that leads up to it; but once that's gone, the bit until the first blossom appears on the trees and the snowdrops and daffodils start to push up through the (normally waterlogged) soil, that's the bit where I want to hibernate. Or more accurately, just go on holiday somewhere sunny!!

  4. Yep, I could do the same. Hate the gloomy dark. Might have to dig my SAD light out.

I saw Neville Staples earlier this year - thought he was pretty good, although I agree he did make a bit of a meal of the whole thing. Mind you, I had to love him just a little bit more when this bloke kept shouting out for him to sing loads of Specials songs, and Neville eventually just shouted back " Why don't you just pay twice as much and go and see them then!!" :D

The Beat and Rankin' Roger are fab!! And he's still well fit when he gets his shirt off!!

  10. Do the holiday !

I did a cheap 'n cheerful week in Malta one Easter - there was a woman staying in the aparthotel that had been there since November - she reckoned it was cheaper for her to stay there than stay at home with the heating on. She reckoned the weather hardly dropped below 60C with plenty of sun and had the look of an old leather handbag to prove it.

    Aaaaaaaaah. That sounds lovely.
I look a bit like an old leather handbag for most of the summer - I reckon it'd be fun to look like one all winter too..... *dreamy wistful look*

I leave the clock in my transit as was ...and love the day when it's back to normal . I just have to remember i am an hour behind ....it comes quite easy for me as i am quite backward any way .

  14. i was offered a job once in a hotel in bugibba... not sure if it was a serious offer or just a sleazy hotel owner, so i didn't stick around to find out

i could quite easily work on my leather handbag look, in fact, i'm even willing to try!

  15. It was a tired, shabby little place but had a rooftop, concrete pool (unheated) and a little food shop on site with a read 'n leave bookcase that kept her in books. All the rooms had a basic tittle kitchenette and provided you accept Malta for what it is - basic - it would be an alternative to grim British winters.
