Ormskirk - 10 miles north of Liverpool - Famed for its church which has both a tower and a steeple -once beautiful old market town - old Victorian buildings demolished and replaced with 60s concrete monstrosities - now home to Edge Hill university and its 60,000 students
Southampton- where a big boat that we didn’t build sailed from before it sank. We’ve been dining out on that one for over 100 years now. Also, the only city between Bournemouth and Brighton that has a civilised and law abiding society.
Reading all these replies I think you all need to move to EG, thinking about it again do we really want whinging “ how much”northerners,
Portchester Castle. A Saxon Shore Roman fort with a church and a Norman Keep which is run by English Heritage with good views over Portsmouth Harbour.
Go to Bury St Edmunds, lovely olde market town, beautiful Abbey gardens and museum etc, if you are into all that sort of thing
Bridgwater. Hummm where do I start. Full of inbreeds. So I suppose most of you will get on fine here. The best think about the town is the A38 heading out. In fast you don’t need the A38 just stick to the M5. We do have the Bridgwater carnival the worlds biggest illuminated carnival. Which I Havnt seen for a few years.
At first I thought you meant go to Reading..... as in Reading not reading??!? The OP should come to Preston, we have a half decent red light distict if you have a spare £20
They take stirling only but will probably give you something unexpected but you won't know it for a couple of days..... so I have been told!
