Yeah - felt really sorry for him - should have won and now been in the championship lead - but hopefully that's all his bad luck for the year
Yes I saw that and he made a move and then back again. Not for the first time. Imo verstapen mostly to blame.
Could this also push RIC to Ferrari? I thought I read that alonso is out of mclaren at the end of this year.
Same here - a revelation , Botty for the championship. Watch this space ... Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
That's 2 races running Grosjean has hardly covered himself in glory! Trying to spin the car the right way round in the middle of the pack ain't to bright
If he didn't have bad luck he'd have no luck. Grosjean didn't even make to the start of qualifying, he barely got out of his pit box before the engine detonated.
Hardly a shock, but it does beg the question where does Riccardo go? I'd say there's no room at either Mercedes or Ferrari, so does he stay with RBR and the chance that Honda will deliver or jump ship to either Renault or McLaren. If he moves I think Renault will be his choice especially if they get their hands on Adrian Newey as has been rumoured. Here's the Honda Statement Honda Statement: Honda and Red Bull Group have signed an agreement whereby Honda will enter into a partnership with Red Bull Racing to supply it with power units for two years from the start of the 2019 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. This will be in addition to its current agreement with Red Bull Scuderia Toro Rosso. The two Red Bull-owned teams will run identical specification Honda Power Units. Takahiro Hachigo, President and Representative Director of Honda Motor Co., Ltd: “Having established a good relationship with Scuderia Toro Rosso, we have decided to extend our Formula One involvement to the other team in the Red Bull family, Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, as from the 2019 season. Having two teams means we can access twice as much data as previously. We believe that working with both Toro Rosso and Red Bull Racing will allow us to get closer to our goal of winning races and Championships, building two strong partnerships. Discussions proceeded very quickly, thanks to Red Bull’s open and respectful attitude towards Honda, leading to a deal that is fair and equitable for all parties.” Dr. Helmut Marko, Red Bull Motorsport Advisor: “This partnership with Honda signals a new era for Red Bull Group in Formula One with both the Toro Rosso and Red Bull Racing teams benefitting from common supply co-ordinated through Red Bull Technology. We have been extremely impressed by Honda’s commitment and progress and share like-minded ambitions to compete for Championships. With this integrated approach between the companies we very much look forward to working with Honda.” Christian Horner, Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Team Principal: “This multi-year agreement with Honda signals the start of an exciting new phase in Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s efforts to compete not just for grand prix wins but for what is always our goal – championship titles. We have always taken decisions such as this dispassionately and with only one criteria in mind – do we believe the outcome will allow us to compete at a higher level. After careful consideration and evaluation we are certain this partnership with Honda is the right direction for the team. We have been impressed by Honda’s commitment to F1, by the rapid steps they have made in recent times with our sister team Scuderia Toro Rosso, and by the scope of their ambition, which matches our own. We look forward to working with Honda in the coming years and to racing together in pursuit of F1’s biggest prizes.” Sent from my ALCATEL ONE TOUCH 9002A using Tapatalk
I agree ... if he goes anywhere I suspect it will be Renault .... But after Alonso's win at the 24 hour ... will he be content to just race for money ?
40 points clear it's hard to see how hamilton isn't going to get another world championship this year and equal fangio. All the pundits were saying this was going to be a ferrari track (like they did in monza) but you have to say lewis blitzed it in qually, which set him up for a race win. Bottas in the same car was nowhere this weekend, just goes to show how much better hamilton seems to be right now. 6 races to go.. !
His quali was sublime and thereafter a well managed race. Merc have rebounded well from some organisational 'mares at the beginning of the season. Liked Charlie Whiting apologising the in the Green Room after the race. Hamiltons to lose, but a DNF could change everything.... imagine if Max had not been sensible amongst the back markers yesterday!
