What odds that Mercedes wins again? Can Ferrari get and keep their act together for the full season? Will McLaren come good with Renault power? Will Red Bull beat McLaren with the same engine?
I’m looking forward to see what happens with red bull/mclaren. I think it’s going to be a close season and let’s not forget aren’t they limited to 3 engines.
Three engines then they start taking grid penalties. Sent from my ALCATEL ONE TOUCH 9002A using Tapatalk
To give my two pence worth - Highly likely. Based on the last decade or so, no chance! They'll probably flatter to deceive early on then lose the plot around the summer break. McLaren will improve but it's going to take time to get the new engine and systems integrated after 3 years of Honda. Highly likely for the above reasons.
I reckon it will be closer racing than for a few years - Red Bull should be back up there with Merc and Ferrari - with McLaren back to a competitive team
Hoping for closer racing!! In reality, convergence of engine development should help, so Mercs vs Ferrari should be in the cards and fingers crossed some McLaren / Bull action!
Who cares? F1 has really gone downhill over the past few years, I used to follow it fanatically in the 80's and 90's, theses days the cars, drivers and racing is just dull.
Yes - grid penalties and points penalties for drivers when it is teams fault is crazy . There should be rule that penalises the team but not the driver - so driver keeps their points for a team cock up
I mean more along the lines of car rules, when allen jones came into the pits they put a cover over the gearbox, turns out it was the skirt around his car that gave him better performance.
You`ve obviously never raced . At that level they read the rules , pick holes in it and see what the team can get away with . There`s even that mentality at club level - pathetic really but that`s why the rules are so tight , supposed to be a level playing field Jensen Button with Brawn is a classic example , they saw a loophole in aero regs and exploited it , by the time protests had been lodged and the Brawn aero package passed as legal they`d got good results in the first few GPs and an unasailable lead . I`ll catch the highlights if i`m around but to be honest there`s no real passion with the drivers anymore . Don`t forget , they`re all living the dream and won`t rock the millionaire apple cart by seriously bad mouthing opponents / organisers - maybe occasionally you`ll get someone having a moan but in a very bland PR savvy way , no passion !!
