Been busy doing lots of little things that don't justify photos and a few that have. Propex all wired and gas pipes run then I started on the seats. The old pads absolutely reeked! Was going to salvage them but they really were seriously smelly so they went in the bin. New pads arrived so I got on with fitting my new covers. Fitted the door cards, went well with clips and bungs from Schofields. also lined the rear floor in two layers, one in the recess and another over the whole thing. also took my engine back out replaced the oil cooler as it was leaking easy enough though once you know how. So still been at it, flew through MOT no advisories Then I started on the interior, after much thinking and looking at photos I decided the well trodden route of units down one side is what I wanted. There's going to be five of us In there some of the time so it needs to be practical and as much storage as possible. The bed is custom width rusty lee so bigger than a 3/4 but not full width, that way I get some storage and a reasonable bed. A waeco crx 50 and a propex under the bed, over head locker and rear cupboard big enough to take a few coat hangers. Standard dormobile twin bunks in the roof with a cab bunk for the youngest. I went with knock on trim so the material went as far as possible as the light weight stuff costs a kidney and then some! It takes some careful template making and router action but well within the abilities of a half decent tinkerer. It just takes an age to even make one unit though! I am currently doing this exact repair to the valence and kick panel. My A pillars are still in great shape. I was wondering how the leading edge of the original kick panel is welded to the top of the valence and how you got it out. It looks like it is spot welded along the leading edge but it’s hard to see. I was originally going to repair it from the underside with lots of small patches, but it’s too hard to get to with many pointlessly complex shapes. I will end up cutting away a small section of solid nose to get to it. I don’t like doing that but it seems to be the only way to really get in there to properly repair and rust treat it.
