To be honesty I don't really want twin carnbs as it's all recxtra fiddling, need rollingb roads blah blah. If they were not much more money than a new 34pict 3 then maybe , but I'm not paying that much more Oh yeah and if I could get them quicker than a single carb
Cost of powder coating is a big factor. Lot of money for some good looking tinware which would only be enjoyed by a few at shows. I prepped mine and painted it with Rustoleum black gloss and it still looks great and stood up well to the heat and dirt. Did the HE's and rocker covers as well. Cost me £20. While I was at it, I hand painted the engine bay in Rustoleum dove grey gloss, cheap, looks great, I like it.
Re the 34 pict3 carb, my old one was a Chinese repro and I replaced it with a nice refurbed one from Kevin at Riverhaus. Some on here have used Southern Carburettors based in Crawley, West Sussex. Who refurb/rebuild solex carbs.
Yeah its riverhaus I've been trying to get hold of, not answering though. Cheers fort the tip on southern carbs, will give them a shout
What a load of tosh. You've started up your tinware too, is that just for the enjoyment of a few at shows? Powder coating, when you factor in the cleaning to bright metal, which I respectfully suggest you can't do anyway, and break it down to £5-10 per piece, is a raving bargain.
I think there was nearly a week of evenings to do my fan housing alone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Regards powdercoating, joking aside i may get it done. But do they fill the captive nut threads with powdercoat? How would I fix that? For the likes of fan housing, does it only get done on outside?
Spindle bushes leaking, they're metal ones I can't get out. I did a half refurb but could well of arsed it up. I'd like a professionally done one, to go on my new engine. Them there's no quibble about whether something works right, or if I've arseed something up!
Send a tap though it.. did it to all my inferior home painted tin... Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
