    I made it safely to Eddy's, but
    It's at least one knackered valve worse than an accelerator cable!

    Gutted as we can't do our isle of wight trip now.

    If anyone ever finds themselves with an engine revving of its own free will, they should leave it IN gear, brake and kill engine asap. I pulled it out of gear and killed engine asap, which made it worse.

    A rev limiting rotor arm would probably have prevented my situation becoming terminal!

    All fixable so smiles will return before long.

    Lovely to see the TLB crew and Eddy enjoyed his birthday!

    Yes, get it to the bloke who built the engine as soon as he can fit it in.

    Try and find cause of why it revved on its own and fix

    Get knackered valve sorted and whatever other damage it caused

    Get rev limiting rotor arm fitted! To try and prevent it ever happening again

    Got home an hour ago, alternator was charging at 15.6 volts at some points on way home, think I need to try a different regulator!! Nice and quiet with my new sound deadening though.
