Having 2 mcbs also helps if you have a proplem like the fridge going faulty as with one you will lose everything My van I have 2 one 6amp for the charger and one 10amp for a single socket hidden under the bed Can't remember ever using the socket all the stuff in the van is 12v
Spot on that. a permanent charger (Ctek or zig or anything else.)install is best done on a separate circuit so I would agree with that. Mines removable so it doesn't matter.
I like stuff on plugs and sockets so its easy to disconnect if you have a problem. Double pole mcbs are a big help if you have an earth fault in reinstating what you can.
Your right Am I right if I say what this needs is an expert to draw a wireing diagram and add links to items to be bought then a offer for a bulk purchase foer us all
No! lol. Imho if you cant do it from the info that's here then don't do it at all. Get someone else to do it.
I've ordered just the one MCBO and was going to hard wire it and the one socket I have into it. I guess it would be handy to be able to switch off the charger without disabling the socket. Perhaps I could run 2 sockets and have a discrete one for the charger from the DIY shop, I don't want to order another MCB, the beggars charge more for the post than the components and them with the right box don't have the MCBO and vica versa I haven't ordered cable or an inlet yet, no doubt I can use the orange stuff for everything? I can cut a few metres off an extension if I get a 25m one. Hard work this!
If you have more than 1 appliance and just 1 socket but no adapter, take the plug off one, splay out the wires over the socket holes and plug the other in on top, thus trapping the wires. No need to thank me, H&S is my area of expertise and I'm happy to share my knowledge.
2.5 flex for internal wiring (min size). wire size for supply cable (to the regs) is 2.5! will be amazed if many people have that size. a lot of the ones ive seen have been 1.5!! no one seems to care though!
you can get yellow arctic as well! I bought yellow recently for the boat coz it's different but TBH I don't think the insulation is as good as on the blue, which seems more flexible and more cold resistant
this electric stuff is easy The leads are normally 25m as that's the max distance allowed in the regs between hook up points on campsites but i carry one around 15m as i keep cutting bits off to fit to peoples vans
Sorry to bring up the post from yesterday. But the pms is what is being added to my bus. What does this do and is it not worth it?
