Yurts?

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Bernard Fishtrousers, Jul 29, 2014.

  1. The fair Bernadette fancies spending a couple of nights in a yurt.
Has anyone any experience of these?
And more importantly, can anyone reccomend a suitably be-yurted site that will take the dog within about a hundred miles of East Midlands Airport?

Me and @zed stayed on a site on the Norfolk coast that had yurts. I can't remember which site but maybe Zed can. It was the one where we erected his awning to take photos.
Also @paradox has one as well, so knows a bit about them.

Just Google Clamping, should give you a few yurts for hire, or try Canopy and Stars, plenty of yurts countrywide on their site.

I wouldn't google clamping - it sounds dodgy, but Glamping might produce the results. :D
"backpackers" I think the site is called.

Buggeration with this predictive spelling!

  6. That sounds worth following up.

    Zed?

Canopy n stars have a fair few but when you want to take a dog, they don't.

  7. Pre-camper van, we stayed here:

Lovely place, very quiet, only 4 (?) yurts in total, on a working farm so kids enjoyed feeding animals, exploring the woods etc plus they have a great shop/cafe. All the yurts had woodburners and fire boxes outside.
