Or this. I saw Remmy a few times, once in a small pub. Spell binding, no idea what he sings about. Actually I do know, just obviously don't understand the lyrics. He had a brass section as this album, but in the UK quickly ran out of cash I think and hereafter toured without them. Still good without the brass.
I saw Motorhead at Sheffield City Hall, The Almighty Supported ..probably loudest gig I have ever been to, bonkers...Philthy Animal Taylor is stopping at Wirksworth near me with his sister, not been a well man recently bless him.
Geesuz..... everybody knows there is only one perfect album ever produced, a timeless list of great music with sentiments well ahead of its time. Underrated by many but never imitated or equaled . And that album is NEVER MIND THE ***** . Heres the SEX PISTOLS If youve never listened to it or bought it, put it on yer bucket list.....
Proper nostalgia trip for me - I was 16, playing rugby for my school in Canada for 3 weeks on 1988 - had never been away from home, never flown anywhere on a jet - that album, Appetite For Destruction and bizarrely Fast Car by Tracy Chapman were the music for that tour....
I saw them at Rock City too, and Donington as it was then, they supported Megadeth at NEC too. not sure where Taylor was from.... Ricky Wawrick singer of Almighty still around, he played with Thin Lizzy and was also in New Model Army....it's a small world.
This has got to be my Desert Island favourite - but I would miss Hendrix, Stones, Clapton, Queen, Metallica, Muse, etc etc - not to mention all the Blues maestros- but the first chords of the first track on this album sold to me when I first heard it in 1969 - Led Zeppelin 2
I've got loads of favourite albums but a few I consistently come back to are - Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream Pulp - Different Class David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust The Beatles - Revolver Led Zep 2 GnR - Appetite for Destruction U2 - Achtung Baby Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run
