Yes ,I know the wipers are crap, but mine are veerrry sloooow. The garage have the motor off and will lube everything else, can the motor be successfully re-furbished? I see they are fairly expensive and I do like to fix stuff if I can
You can strip it all down and replace the crusty grease in the motor and gearbox and the wiper spindles. Its fairly simple provided you mark the position of the various arms when you take it apart and also mark the motor housing if you take it apart. And reassemble it to those marks. Extra points for putting the motor together with the magnets 180 degrees out so it goes backwards amd parks with the arms pointing straight up...
Also when I rebuilt my motor I put it all back together as shown in Bentley and it wiped the front below the windscreen!, there diagram for setting the crank arm appears to be 180 degrees out Andy
Mine was replaced with a T25 motor which is much more effective than my original unit. Wipers sit slightly higher on the screen but they actually work
