WANTED Wiper Spindles

Morning Guys, Just welded in the new windscreen bulge panel and now need to sort out the wipers. It seems that the previous owner had been using them whilst the spindles were seized and this caused the whole lot to turn and has cut the brass to bits! Sooo, not wanting to pay £70-80 for a new pair I'm looking for some old un's. Just need the brass bits and nuts, will accept stiff or seized!

I think I have some - had them up a while back for sale and can't remember if I sold them or not and so will go and check my box of spare bits in a minute.

 

Sorry, but having checked turns out I have sold the spare individual spindles I had.

However, I do have a spare complete wiper mechanism. The motor on it is shot (which is why I replaced it) however the rest is fine. You could either have the whole thing or I'd be happy to remove the two spindles and let you just have those - you could then strip off the bits you need from them or use them as they are. How does £10 plus postage sound for either the whole thing or just the spindles. If you wanted the whole thing I'd strip the motor off before sending to save on weight for postage as it's knackered.



Note that this wiper mechanism came from a LHD van - don't know if they are sided or not, but thought that I should mention it. Spindles themselves definitely aren't sided though.

The same thing happened to me. I was able to reuse the brass sheaths by flipping them over. The only cost was a new nut to replace the one I had to cut off (the circular one).

 

Porkpie - were you interested in any of my wiper mechanism or do you want to pass so I can see if Zed is still interested?

Hi PeaSoup, Thanks for the offer and sorry for not replying sooner but have been super-busy! The spindles look fantastic and are definitely wanted. I dont need the mechanism at all as mine is good and rhd, so if it is possible to remove the spindles that would be great and then Zed could have the mech he needs? If not I'll take it as it is, unless Zed wants to send me his spindles and have the complete mech off you?!!
