Wiped Out

  1. Wipers haven't come on (late bay, 2L). It's pee ing down and I've just had to cancel a return trip London to Nottignham (strepsils!) Got techenders at weekend too. Bum.

Checked the fuses, spun them round all good. Only water on cab floor is from the dodgy side window scrapers so not coming in the frontpanel anywhere. Tried putting pressure on the wipers to start them, but no power to them.

seeking wisdom and advice from the bay of lateness, what should I do. Set fire to it, Viking style?

  2. Rainex them and drive it.

    Get your multimeter out.

    Rainex is very good.

  4. ^^^ what he said.

Multimeter to check if you are getting power to the motor.

  5. I've got a multimeter, somewhere. I'm thick with it,need to figure it out one day. Maybe today. Do I stick the red needle on the motor wire connection and the black one on some other metal............and it should say 12v????

  6. Same happened to mine and I found a knackered spade terminal on that circuit of the fuse box. Have you checked the fuse?

  7. Rainex. Its not raining in Nottingham!

  8. It got a bit drier So I just drove to drop off my parcel at UPS round the corner (I was going to hand deliver one of my weirdo solarcookers to the university of Nottingham.......its saved me a long journey this wiper issue).

All of sudden the wiper came back to life, about 5 minutes in. What does this signify? Something loose or not enough power or,something sticking???

Went to See Morrisey last night a bit vague this morning,,got a 'hatful of hollow'

  9. I work at the Uni. Perhaps i could pick it up from you at techenders and deliver for you if youd like, assuming its not hugemongous.

  10. dicky, that's a great offer but I just sent it via UPS, hopefully they won't destroy it too much. It was just a box containing one of these

(Note the camper van in the pics!) which I sell and they're studying it.

Must say, that would have been a great late bay courier service if it had happened, end to end :)

  12. They work well here , despite our lousy weather,But nobodies heard of them at all . Ill probably have one out at Techenders, with some sausage rolls in or something.

And maybe somebody could show me how to work a multimeter on my iffy wiper motor???
