Window wipers. Hmmmm

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by icepug, Jul 3, 2014.

  1. I don't know it this is common place but the driver side window wiper doesn't touch all of the screen at the end closest the A pillar. Has anyone else had this issue and are the bent one available to buy? Thanks in advance.

  2. I think it's because the modern replacements don't have as many links in the arm, so it can't bend round as it should, so lifting off the last few inches of screen. Mine does it too, sure it's a common problem.
Think maybe @vwed sells proper ones if I remember

    Same here.
I am considering the ones that The Range (like Woolworths but a bit more expensive) sell as these seem to be bent like bananas when they are in the shop.

I did a post a while ago, general advice was as above, modern wipers have fewer bends in them. Found some NOS ones which were a fortune so I didn't bother

  7. @vwed do you have these? how much are they?

  8. I have a couple of sets left as per the photo below.
Note they are silver so will look odd with the '72 onwards black arms; they are better suited to the earlier Bays with silver arms.
They are £25 a pair plus £2.80 postage mailed out in a poster tube ( a strong shape), removed from their packaging - it is too much hassle to try and make a custom padded box for them still in the packaging.
