The passenger side window winder is just spinning and window is neither going up nor down I assume thread has had it so what should I be looking for on eBay to replace it
Sounds like the handle. Just pop cover off undo 1 screw and look if its worn out. Cheap enough to replace
I have tried replacing winders but still spin and tried passenger winder on drivers side works fine is it possible to just replace spline
Otherwise its the likes of VW heritage although I did once manage to dismantle an OG winder and drill a hole through and then fit a nail in a split die casting and get it working . If you strip down the mechanism you may find The splined shaft has split a casting inside the winder . A creative nail might work or The gear on the winder has hacked up the metal spiral that is pulled through the winder. You might be able to take one out of a differnt winder mech. The Brazilian cheese- metal replacement is about £22 from VWH. I have bought several.
