Windbreak that fits under back seat?

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by paulcalf, May 10, 2014.

  1. I can't find a pole only Windbreak that will fit under the rear seat/bed.

My max width is 135cm. There are loads of Windbreaks that claim to be smaller but they only measure the material bit, with the poles they are too big.

So can anyone recommend a pole type wind break that is less than 135cm including poles.

Surely other people have Windbreaks that fit under the rear seat?

  2. Nope, mine is too long too. It's a pain.......

  3. So how much longer are the poles on the ones with a 90cm high canvas?

  9. Yep I'm an idiot, why don't I just trim some poles to size!

  10. I too am an idiot. Ours is too long and gets in the way ... it's a traditional one with wooden poles ... now where's that saw....

  11. Ours is wooden poles with a stripy woven material great for the beach,
Did mess the poles up a bit once trying to get in in the ground on Felixstowe cliff car park but soon cut a new point on them and bound the tops ,
The thing with wood is you can repair them,

  12. Do these windbreakers actually break wind?

Every one I've seen with collapsible metal / fibreglass poles and guy ropes has been in a pile next to a bin. They're fine until it gets windy which kind of defeats the object.

  14. If you want the poles to be shorter, then you need to let me near it. Ask @poptop2 why. ;)

  16. Hey, you hammered it in with the force of an industrial piledriver. I just spectacularly failed to get it back out of the ground again without snapping the ends off. ;) Somewhere, in a field, buried in the ground is the last 4 inches of a pole from Malc's windbreak.

Go for the extreme option, rip your interior out and fit a full width bed
