Barmy axeman for the feelgoods has terminal cancer so this is for any fans of the estuary sound Dr. Feelgood - Roxette (1975)
Canvey Islands finest Saw them in the mid 70's & they were high energy R&B 8) Damn, I wonder if that'll stop them touring down here this year.
I knew you two would reply to this, I saw them a few times back in the day with Brilleaux up front . The feelgoods are still going but i think its only one original member. Saw Wilco a few times with various bands in the last couple of years.
Must be an age thing I often go to gigs & wonder what's happened to the people I used to see, maybe they're not allowed out anymore?
He's still amazing. Has vowed to play all the gigs he can...seeing him in February. Too young the first time around but now can't wait!
I am a big fan, sad to hear, if you havent seen it, there is fantastic documentary by Julian Temple about Dr Feelgood 'Oil city confidential'. This is just the trailer, well worth watching the whole film http://www.musicfilmweb.com/watch/film/oil-city-confidential/1317/ Also there is a great chapter in Mark Radcliff's autobiography about meeting him in Canvey Island and recreating the famous photo on Down by the jetty.
It's well worth getting hold of Oil City Confidential. I had to import a copy from the UK, as no-one was distributing it down here
ive seen a zillion bands/performers over the years but.. him and some other fellas at the Half Moon in putney in the 90"s >>>storming ! what a gig ! rock stripped to the bones .
