Hi, What is the best distributor to get for the type 4 engine? its a 2.0L with twin 34 pdsit carbs, i have a non vacuum dissy fitted at the moment, but would like to change it back to a vacuum. I have seen this one on ebay [ebay]http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130595742789?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648[/ebay] would this be suitable?

Quite a few people on here have fitted one of these http://thelatebay.com/index.php?topic=14959.msg233587#msg233587 Thinking of getting one myself
I'm running a 009 with dual weber 40 IDF and the distributor that i'm switching to os this one. http://vwparts.aircooled.net/Pertronix-Brand-SVDA-Distributor-12-Volt-Version-p/d186504.htm
I have just bought one of the ebay SVDA 034 electronic distributors, will see how it goes, it should be better than the 009 dizzy i currently have fitted.
Hi all... Like Camper123 who started this thread, I'm confused by which distributor I need. I also have a T4 2l lump in my bus, with the original vacuum dizzy but a PO has fitted Weber 34 ICT twin carbs. In the recent freebie mini issue of VolksWorld mag which I picked up at the Volksworld show a couple of weeks ago, one of their answers to a reader's question stated that "twin carbs won't function correctly with the stock (vacuum) distributor" so they recommend fitting a mechanical advance dizzy instead. I was going to replace my points with an electronic ignition module, but now I'm wondering whether I should change the dizzy too... can anyone offer any advice and suggest a suitable dizzy?
Bad advice, I have a vac dizzy and twin ICT's as many on here do. You might benefit from an anti-pulse valve in the vac line but I don't have one myself...
