...without modification and will fit over the front hub? I thought T4 steel wheels would as the stud pattern is correct but the bore isn't large enough to fit over the hub thingy. Can anyone recommend an alternative with pics if possible?
all of the steels listed won't take a VW hub cap, the only way around this is fit a re-rimmed wheel these people will make you a set for around £90 a wheel http://www.mach5wheels.co.uk/ (about 3/4's of the way down the page)
Just as a side issue, has anyone fitted 225 tyres on the rear of a Bay? Do they fit without any rubbing?
Out of interest, what size are prototype bay steel wheels, are they 15"? would these not fit with a adaptor (although i know some like adaptors, some dont), or porsche 356 15" steelies again with adaptors.
Don't know if atone has mentioned VwHeritage sell SA 15 inch steels for bays, these were only available in south Africa as standard.. But they ve got hold of a stash. Not cheap at £90 ish I believe , but very cool and brand new... They are on their website and they look the same as factory 14's in silver
i had a 15inch merc steel wheel as a spare in mine when i bought it. when i was fixing the van up i tryed it on the back and it would not fit as the center bore was to small it wouldnt fit up to the hub i never tryed it on the front, i have no idea what model it was from
