Could do with some help. Rob and the boys say no to pink. I would prefer something not boring. Definitely want vinyl. Not fabric. And I have no experience of non fabric fabric. Been googling but absolutely no help. Bek- so glad to be back and thinking about camping.
Kens Customs in Ashby de la Zouch are doing Gusbus seat & bed upholstery, they also do door cards and trim to match http://www.kenscustoms.co.uk/ From what Ive seen & gained from talking to Keith, they do a really good job and he will talk you through various ideas & colour schemes. He loaned us lots of material & leather samples and is very flexible on timescales! That's if you don't want to do it yourself!
http://www.textileexpressfabrics.co...Products/"CGF Pop Art Prints Hippies B10 PVC" Would oilcloth work????? obviously this one is fab.
Apparently there's a company in Plymouth who do trimming etc. someone recommended them to me but I've forgotten what they're called. They are a bit like remar? Where they employ people with disabilities/learning difficulties. The guy who had used them said they were v good....and cheap
Thanks for all the replies. I am going to do them myself ( only reason cheaper ) I'm still thinking oil cloth as I can get it for 2.95 a metre but would like some one to point out if this is a ridiculous idea first before I try it?
Sounds like a perfectly reasonable idea to me. I did mine with PVC but I've seen others done with denim and hessian so I can't see why oil cloth shouldn't work. I glued a piece of thin foam onto the door card before I covered it. It gives a softer, padded look.
I got mine from trim Jim, the beetles interior came from the dub father. Material can be got from martrim conggleton, there the ones who are usually at dub freeze.
Hi Bek We retrimmed the tailgate and rear side bits in oilcloth. You don't need to sew it- just cut and staple. You will need to fit a thin layer of foam between the card and the oil cloth though otherwise it can rip. We also trimmed the rear areas in vinyl using the same technique You will be fine as you are a great machinist x
