I park in an off road parking space behind my house but it's quite exposed to the elements. Before I embark on my resto what storage ideas are there out there?? As I don't have a garage/covered car port to park my bus in I'm thinkg the only option are the weatherproof covers. How good are they?? Any other options?? Cheers Joe
We rent a garage about a ten minute drive from home as we live on a road of Victorian terraced houses. Costs us about £35 a month but that's for Central Birmingham - and nowhere would insure us unless we garaged him. Had to go for an old style garage with opening wooden doors and even lowered by a couple of inches it's a tight squeeze! Good luck with the covers - will be interested to hear whether people rate them - and also whether, even garaged, it's worth wrapping up for winter...
I keep mine in a farmers warehouse 1m down the road from me. It's expensive but as its so close the van will be use more. Only have 1 parking spot outside our house and 3 cars. Plus I feel better that it's all Locked away in a dry place with other cars.
Ours is kept in a garage, I think no matter how well covered old vehicles are they still don't like being outside over the winter.
On my driveway with a JK cover for rainy days. VW owner in same street who has a garage also keeps his camper and beetle on the drive with JK covers for both.
Major lives in the carport, he is protected from the elements but not as much as I'd like. Gusbus lives at me Mum n Dads, nicely tucked away in the garage!
Mine is next to my house behind 7 ft gates with a cover on it , I've done all my work out side . Now moving to a new house with a garage but would be a snug fit so I'll leave it out side with the cover on or build a car port between the houses. Mine is the jk cover and seems ok don't let water in but mine is between two houses so does not get all the rain if that makes sense
Mines on the drive with a JK cover on it. Did get all her nooks and crannies Waxoyl'd this month and I will put Ankor wax to protect the rest.
Mine lives in my garage. It lived outside for the first nine months and I'm suprised how much it detereated in that time.
