Where can I take my 6 year-old niece in the camper?

  1. Need to pick your brains campers...
My 6-year old niece is in luuurve with the bay and wants to spend a night in it. I have her all day Weds and then overnight.
Do any of you know somewhere I can take her for the day where we can park up near some water that she can splash about in?
I'll be starting off from Hanwell W7. Thought of making the run to Eastbourne or somewhere similar on the coast but if there are any little nooks and crannies you know of with a wood and maybe a lake/stream where we can just park up with the dogs and a picnic for the day, I'd be very grateful. Will be bringing her home to sleep in the bus for the night as she doesn't want to be too far from her Mum (bless)...

  2. mate , i spent years living in middlesex (bought my bus there !) depends how far you wanna go , close ?Feltham park , water there and rumour has it WALTER TROUT played there once in civic hall!> Further ,i used to head down the M3 take just about any slip road in the rural area and found some ASTOUNDING "stand up" locations , just looked at map , sooo many places ! (lucky you guys) best wishes

  3. If your heading down to Eastbourne maybe the river cuckmere meanders or park up at ashdown forest on the way. Beachy head or go into hampden park in eastbourne their is a nice little lake their ,you can park bus on little road through it and sit near and have a picnic ,where their are ducks swans and squirrels to feed and a playground are for the children ,icecream cafe etc?? Lots and lots of places to stop really. Have fun 8)

  4. West Wittering nr Chichester is quite nice. :) Nice run down A24/A29

  5. Thanks guys. Having a pore over the map now. May well try out the M3 backwaters???
Just want to find somewhere not too crowded, dog friendly, where we can pop the top, spread a blanket and laze (although I think we may need to take wellies and waterproofs looking at these clouds) - in which case we'll come back knackered and muddy, which I seem to remember being massive fun when I was six!

Say, did a Victrola come with those dogs or did you have to by it separately? ;)

Nice photos :) Are you proper favourite Aunity now?! I have spent the past decade trying to brain wash all my nieces and nephews and young kids of friends to get their parents to buy a camper ;D When we get any opportunity we try and whizz them out in it even for an hour or soand make sure we stop for ice creams etc to make it seem even fabber! ;D

  12. Next time out give her a big bottle of bubbles and a good assortment of blowing wands to play with. Little ones blowing bubbles with a good scenic background always guarantees a few photos worth framing. :)
    Kites are good too.
    Props Sweetie, props. ;)
I just went a bit Edina there, didn't I. lol :hippy:
