What's this part

It may not actually be a VW part, but it was in my box of tinware for repainting after the engine was dismantled.

Looks like an engine mounting bracket for something .

 

It’s a 1973 vw stockley bracket, looks like an offside one

 

Half a mount for an Eberspächer heater? If it had two large holes, it likely would be.

Holes look a lot like master cylinder holes,

Can't tell the sizes of the holes, but look the same layout

 

Hmm. Maybe it's off one of my Triumph projects then.
