  1. Hi there , just after advice on soundproofing insulating inside my bus , cargo floor body panels etc ,
I've been looking at closed cell foam not sure what thickness to buy ? ,would the white acoustic underlay
For laminate flooring give the same effect ?maybe a few layers as its only about 2/3 mm thick under my ply floor then vinyl on top ? Any advice would be appreciated cheers Paul

  2. ive just dyna mat for sound insulation then laid thermo wrap from b and q down then 9mm ply.
ive spray glued wrap etc to side panels and thats as far as ive got:)

  3. use ply that is moisture resistent £20 for 8 by 4 foot. marine ply cud be used but very expensive.

  4. Hi , where did you get the dyna mat from , did you put this under the thermo wrap ? Then the py , I've not seen any of these products before whats the thermo wrap usually used for ? Cheers Paul

  5. I've already got marine ply , I will still be giving this a coat of diluted Pva which I would recommend to do with any ply
    Just belt and braces lol

  6. i got the dyna mat at the just kampers open day and bought a mx packet and a large packet which cost around 350 but im sure there are alternatives like in the flat roofing section of b n q that do a paint on rubber roof seal. im going to see if that works as most of the van is done but could use this to complete the job.
thermo wrap is just for lofts and is water tight air bubble plastic

  7. thats a good idea re the pva. i will do that now so thanks for the tip!

  8. the d mat has a peel and stick backing which you stick to the body work. in some areas i used spray glue aswell lol

  9. Haha , at work we use a tanking coat that dries waterproof and rubber like not sure of its insulation properties tho defo waterproof has we use this in swimming pools , I've been looking at some rolls of closed cell foam on eBay which they say insulation properties are very good as well as the acoustic values , think if I got this it would cost around £100 top side for all the bus , probably have to spray glue it but no drama there , I've also got two rolls of earth wool for in the panels but not sure if to use this or not because of the damp ,

  10. i did the whole van for less than £30 with the loft insulation and add say three cans of glue to that. im not sure like u about using wool for the reasons u have said as if water does penetrate say in the doors it will be an issue.
can you buy the swimming pool water proofer in shops or online?

  11. The product we use is a ardurit s7 , it looks like a bag of cement powder you mix it with water , I don't think it's cheap to buy its basically a tanking system , think I will have a look for that loft insulation stuff you used , just want to get it rite before any interior gets put in , I've got to get a spray job first just trying to be pro active lol

  12. Also known has ardex , just looked one place selling it for £89 a bag I didn't realise it was this much maybe be taking some home lol
