For me its been the quiet weekend me Lou n Will spent at Tenbury Wells , it was vanfest weekend and we stopped off at a deli in Bromyard and loaded up with fresh food and cider before spending a warm couple of days in a farm field - just like the old days , lovely views chilled and relaxed . what's been your best time in your van thus far ?.
Burnby Hall Gardens for me! The other weekend. Great Friday night fun with the nicest people then convoy over the Humber bridge and camping in the best surroundings ever. Meeting more TLBers and spending more time with the untouchables
We have had some nice times with our tlb friends , Rick n Lou obviously and others but sometimes a moment just hits the spot and that was it for me
The more tits-up things are at home the more I enjoy being away. Things have been tits-up the whole time I've had it, so I'm always happy to be away in it.
For me was driving Molly away from the garage for the 1st time after 3 years of not seeing very often x
Mine was my disaster-prone trip to Shoreham, had the maddest times with a mental 6-year old. Candyfloss, ice-cream, sun, sea, high teas in the bus, dogs in the sea - poo on the beach (but I cleaned up like a good doggie owner), and then the tupperware fiasco!
Our best time to date started with two nights in Robin Hood's Bay then a drive up the North East coast to Northumberland. Seahouses and Banburgh. Glorious empty beaches. A revelation. Then up to the first few days of the Edinburgh festival. It was a long drive back to Sheffield in the first bad weather we'd had in a fortnight and she never missed a beat. Even through flood waters so ferocious water came in through the floor air vent! Great food, lovely wine with lazy days and long dog walks. I didn't want to come home.
The best time so far was the first camping trip to northern Scotland 3 weeks ago. It was the first time I'd slept in a Bay since living in one 12 years ago in Australia for just over a year. I'd dreamt of owning another and sleeping in one ever since. Fulfilling that dream was bloomin' brilliant. The second best time was 2 weeks ago when I slept in it again, this time outside my mate's house in Exeter. First met him in Oz too 12 years ago, when his first words were 'nice bus mate, fancy a reefer, I love my Dubs too, want to see some pics of my Beetles and buses?'. Been best mates ever since.
Without hesitation it has to be Cornwall this year. It was our first big trip at 12 nights and I never thought we'd cope in such a small space (the behemoth of an awning helped!) With fab company and generally fab weather it really was wonderful ;D (we won't talk about the 2 breakdowns within 25 miles of each other lol :)
