We've just come back from Ireland, where my brother was looking at camper prices and ads online. Over there vehicles over 20 years old don't need a an MOT - or National Car Test, which is their equivalent.
He was suggesting that he'd rather buy over here and import.
I know that an MOT will vary in it's quality - but I'd rather buy with one than with no testing

  4. wouldn't it be cheaper to buy one over there and just get it inspected ?

  5. No motorbike test here... 8)

  6. Mot aint worth the paper its printed on although when buying a vehicle with no mot a failure sheet is very helpfull

However i tend to buy vehicles with some mot on them so i can tax and insure them straight away and drive them to find out any faults i hadent spotted at purchase time

As above, it's just a meaningless illusion. Vehicles without MOT's are cheaper.. My last three didn't have one.
