What type of bulbs are used to backlight the dashboard?

  1. The lighting to my dash is still ******* poor, even after the loom was renewed, so I now know that the bulbs are crap.

So, what type of bulb fits in the dash, I need to go investigating for dimmable led bulbs to replace them!

  12. The standard bulb are mini capless 12 volt 1.2 watt i bought a pack of 10 delivered for under a fiver ;D

  13. have you tried putting a direct 12V supply to the backlight feed to bypass the switch/rheostat just to rule that out? My standard bulbs are very bright no that I have sorted the switch out.

  15. did they work
put mine in today and they dont work

  16. Worked a charm! The LED bulbs are nice and bright and now I can see my dials at night. :)

Have you tried putting them in the other way around? LED bulbs only work one way round, so you've got a 50/50 chance of getting it right.

  17. Turn 'em round ;)

Bulbholder needs to be mounted on the metal plate, or there's no ground connection.

  18. thanks chaps i read a bit more then went out and put them in the other way and they worked:thumbsup:
