i have played both rugby and football - Rugby has more nasty bstds than football fact - They just shake your hand and buy you a pint after the game whilst craftily laughing at your black eye or swollen scrotum - "gentlemen" My arse, bunch of brutal wnkrs , good for a laugh though :) - nasty injury's every week when i played .

Football , soft *****s who genuinely apologised if they hurt you seriously , bad injury once or twice a season in my teams .

In my experience that couldn't be further from the truth.
By the way, putting "fact" after a sentence does not make it so.

completely agree buddy, rugby was worse than footy imo, especially in the scrum! but as you say the difference is, after a rugby match you'd shake hands and share a beer, after footy the fights carried on off the pitch!

I was in the chippy tonight and the chipman was talking to me about football. I had not the slightest clue what he was talking about but I did recognise the words Chelsea, Rail Madrid and Lampard.

be That would be Real Madrid unless he was on about the trains over there, i imagine both topics would induce narcolepsy for you Stu ?

Didn't understand the thread until I heard news today.
Think it's totally wrong, in my job I've been threatened, kicked, bit, had boiling water chucked over me, pinned up against wall by throat, punched, had my throat cut (not as bad as what he tried), abused and followed.
However if I as much as swore back I'd probably never be allowed to work in my job again. So to me why should 'other professionals' ?

Mines not as bad as yours hailfrank but in the line of nursing I have been deliberately urinated on. It was quite present in a warming your feet kind of way as it ran down my leg

Started in psychiatry including secure unit, then secure children's home. Also worked in non secure and hospitals :). Love my job choice. Oh, I was holding someone as they tried to blow us up in a car once but luckily the lighter had too much petrol over it to get a spark :)

  13. I couldn't agree more, I second what you said and apparently I'm supposed to accept it as a hazard of the job! I mean, wtf!
