  10. Nope, mine is a 2012 1.4 turbo. Goes quite well.

  12. Seems like my Stop Start Tech thinks it is connected to a leisure battery. It has decided to Stop Stop.

Just found a link that if you just disconnect the lead to the stop start module and then re connect it. It sorts the issue and therefore does not need a replacement battery. We shall see.

  13. Halfords gave me a battery the other day. When I got it home, I found it was completely flat. Can't really complain though, as it was free of charge.

Stop start - another silly invention.
Lots of low oil pressure starts and battery and starter motor wear. Along with all the other tacky plastic and gimmicks its why I have had the same dip galvanized HDI diesel car since 2005 and in 2k more miles I will have completed 100k since purchase. So far its two brake calipers and a clutch and 3 or 4 batteries.. plus servicing.
I dont expect a modern car to last as long.

  15. Check out Tayna or Mega batteries

  16. I have mine turned off most of the time. The car starts and runs fine. Just tried to see if it still functions and turned it on. It isn't working. No issue really but apparently as the battery begins to lose its power ( it is now 5 years old), the stop start function stops working. I don't remember the last time I actually used it. So I thought I would check out the cost of a battery.

Its back to having it permanently turned off again now.

The car is going in for its service and there are some things that I do myself. I am not paying a garage to replace a battery or the brake pads that also need doing. I can do those my self.

  17. My 2002 Skoda Fabia TDI has done 212,000 miles and is still going strong. Two starter batteries, some suspension bushes, new discs and an air con switch is all its needed so far. Still goes really well. I'm touching a big piece of wood as I type. We've already spent more on the 2011 A class Mercedes my mum gave us a year or so ago...
